Dear friends, users the community! It has been a very long time (if I recall correctly, approximately 11 years) since I have joined this fantastic, and ever growing (now even flourishing) X-Plane community and started development. Out of joy, curiosity, and driven by enthusiasm to visualize better, and better stuff (and ever improving, more-and-more freely available geographic data) in
Just a short notice: as of January 25th I am starting to move the website to a new provider. This might result in a few outages over the coming 1-3 days … be patient and lets hope everything goes as planned. UPDATE: the move should now be finished. The site is fully up at the new hosting location and DSN
All scenery on this website will remain compatible with X-plane 11 and can simply be moved from the old X-Plane 10 “Custom Scenery” environment to the new X-Plane 11 “Custom Scenery” environment. You only need to make sure, that in the new X-Plane 11 scnery_packs.ini the ordering remains correct (as recommended in the installation instructions). This includes: HD Mesh Scenery
Again, an alpilotx.net creation, namely UHD Mesh Scenery v1 won the flusinews.de Freeware award! You can find the award details here: http://flusinews.de/2016/04/freeware-award-2015-die-preisverleihung-ist-nun-online/
A new addition to the successful donationware HD Mesh Scenery v3 series has been release. This time, covering the rest of the American continent: Central America South America All usual “parameters” of the already existing HD Mesh Scenery v3 apply to this scenery too. Special topics to be noted: This new region was primarily made possible by teh ESA CCI
After the first batch of UHD Mesh Scenery tiles released in February 2015, there is now a new set of additional regions to be enjoyed. They are: Northern Washington state (west of the already existing Montana UHD region) Canadian Rockies (between 49N and 55N … from the Pacific to the plains around Calgary – quite a big area ) Scandinavia
I wanted to share with you a really cool design study created by my daughter some time ago (she finally digitized it). I definitely enjoy her refreshingly different approach to a “dull”, flightsim oriented site (and especially the “analog” drawing). Maybe you like it too :-)! The latest little project I am working on is a “plain and simple” update of my X-Plane 10 Tree Lines and Farms scenery to V2. The main improvement will be, that you will see a vastly improved amount of tree lines: based on newer OSM data (the same I used for HD Mesh Scenery v2 … thus the two are
This little free(donationware) script (now in Version 2) helps to transform most parts of DSF files of X-Plane 10 Global Scenery to the GML format. The GML file then can be opened with most modern GIS tools, like the open source tool QGIS, to visualize the internal data structure of the DSF. More infos on the XP10 DSF-to-GML v2 script
Flightsim.com is working hard to increase their support for the X-Plane community. Not only did they introduced a new portal for the X-Plane world (x-plane.flightsim.com) but they als did lately an interview with me. So if you always asked, who this alpilotx guy is, here is your chance to learn (at least a tiny little bit more) about me, how
